Trying to eat well can be hard if you get sugar cravings right before your period. Try this zesty energy ball recipe when you have a busy week ahead and want something nutritious at hand. The recipe makes up to 15 balls that can be stored in the fridge - why not double your ingredients and store half of your batch in the freezer!
Ingredients
- 100g Dates
- Zest of one lemon and juice of half a lemon
- 50g Sesame Seeds & Sunflower Seed Luteal blend
- 100g Oats
- 2 tbsp Almond Butter
- 1 tbsp Honey or maple syrup
- Pinch of salt
Method

Place the dates in a heatproof dish and cover with just-boiled water, leave to soak for at least 5 mins

Once soaked, drain the dates but keep the water to add to the mixture later

Place the dates in the food processor along with all the other ingredients

Blitz until all ingredients are chopped and starting to combine

Gradually add some water one tablespoon at a time and continue to pulse in the processor until the mixture binds together and forms a ball of dough

Remove from the processor and roll into 12- 15 balls

Store in a container in the fridge or freezer and enjoy whenever you like! If freezing, simply remove from the freezer 10 mins before eating.
